I thought I’d share some poetry with you, traveler. I wrote these a while ago and, as you can see, they all complement an element of nature. Nature is one of my favorite things—it’s all-encompassing. It’s a vast world rich with mysteries and wonders, and we get to experience it!
Our world, the one Yahweh built, houses creatures from the most fabulous fox to the tiniest, most precious bluebird. These poems reflect my love and appreciation for that, and I hope you enjoy them.
FABULOUS FOX
The fox is a quick and fabulous hunter
Do not expect to be their confronter
They’ll leap like a bullet into the reed
The fox is a fabulous fellow indeed.
THE BLUEBIRD
Blue as the sky, a call like a choir
The bluebird just seeks to fly ever higher
With a breast like a sunset
And a mood just so sweet
The bluebird never ceases
To be my best greet.
THE ASPEN TREE
Tinkling and tapping in the tree
Like a small green sympathy
The aspen calms the mind and thoughts
And comforts those who dwell in knots
The plant that holds the greatest keys
The ones that open memories
They stand like torches on the cliffs
Catching the wind as if they were skiffs
THE NIGHT
The old wooden bench, sitting at night
Stands with no flinch or a cry or a fright
The old wooden porch, firm in the ground
Remains through the dark, not a creak nor a sound
The trees all sway right, left at some times
They go back and forth as if waving large signs
The moon is the light, high up in the sky
The sun is just waiting to come and say hi
The birds are asleep, safe in their height
This, my friend, is what happens at night
