The sun fell in love with the moon
He’d seen her so often, rising to glow
To light up the night and to shine like the snow
He loved what she did
She fought back the dark
The moon never let a soul dread to embark
Yes this was she, the jewel of the night
This made the moon his most beautiful sight.
The moon fell in love with the sun
A dim orange light, starting to grow
Squinting her eyes it was easy to know
She smiled at when
He lit up the earth
The sun always conjured great joy and gold mirth
Yes this was he, the hearth of the dawn
Like nothing she’d ever laid eyes upon.
